Q1. Who is Neon?

Neon is a warm, happy go lucky character who is incredibly loyal to those around them. Neon is always open and never seems to have anything to hide; they have an air of childish innocence about them with an insatiable need to discover everything around them to find the next big adventure!

Although they can be very mischievous at times, they like things to be ‘fair and just’, so if they see anyone taking advantage or bending the rules Neon isn’t afraid to stand up for themselves or defend others... when ‘wronged’ Neon can use a combination of their mischievousness and fiery temper to unleash all kinds of trouble on anyone who has wronged them... as, in the words of Bugs Bunny:

“Of course, you realise, this means WAR!”

Neon is a ‘perpetual crossover’ character who travels from one dimension to another; as mentioned below in: 'What is Neon’s Character?', similar to a cartoon, Neon’s abilities and personality are intertwined, so they sometimes act more like a cartoon than a person...as their abilities enable them to break normal physical barriers and conceptions i.e. Breaking the 4th Wall; disappearing completely out of a scene then returning to the same scene or a different scene; cause multiple objects to appear from nowhere – similar to Mary Poppins’ carpet bag...although that’s where the ‘cartoon’ similarities stop.

Neon has been around a long time, which means they have seen/experienced many similar situations before. This can sometimes cause Neon to actively try to change, observe and interpret, manipulate or provoke a situation or character(s) in order to:

1.  find something new, fun and excitement... and/or

2. to make an assessment and 'gauge' the atmosphere and dynamics around them.

As a seasoned ‘dimensional traveller’ and due to past experiences, Neon tends not to tell anyone that they are a dimension traveller (although sometimes the truth slips out), however Neon prefers to blend into whichever dimension they are in, which allows them to seamlessly monitor and observe everything within the dimension without being discovered, so they try to keep their abilities secret!

On Neon’s travels, they can sometimes fall into a known comedy/drama/film...similar to the viewing audience, as Neon has come from another dimension, how Neon reacts to any given situation depends on who they are with... Neon’s personality ‘feeds’ off the emotions of the people/characters who are around them but if something unexpected happens, Neon can also react as if they are a ‘3rd party’ so they then ‘feed’ off of the audience’s emotions, as a result there’s a kind of kinship between Neon and the viewers and Neon subconsciously seems to perform to them, sharing information or ideas and spring boarding the audience into a dilemma as if they were a silent character... or in order to play the 2 dimensions off each other.

Neon’s travels takes them to random dimensions, never knowing where they are going to turn up next, Neon has a few ‘abilities’ to help them make sense of the new dimension’s surroundings:

1.      Dimensional Travel – A dimension is similar to a layer of an onion, each dimension has            another layer above/below it and are interconnected by means of holes within the                    layers. Using these holes/tunnels, Neon can travel to any dimension or to any                            time/location/ date within a ‘Specific Dimension’ - so long as Neon knows exactly                    where they are going first (if not, Neon can land anywhere within the Specific                              Dimension, causing unexpected consequences). Due to the dizzying amount of                        tunnels between dimensions, Neon always travels through their ‘Home Dimension’                  first before going on to a ‘Specific Dimension’ i.e. if Neon wishes to change dimension            or try to move within a ‘Specific Dimension’ (e.g. to pinpoint location/time or date),                    Neon first has to ‘jump out’ into their Home Dimension then (once the co-ordinates                  are set), dive back into the ‘Specific Dimension’.

2.     Sub-dimensional Visibility – As with ‘light’, there are many different spectrums of                       visibility; once in a ‘dimension’ Neon can decide which layer of the ‘Visibility Spectrum’           they are in along with any Sub-dimensional layers (Neon does this in the same way as           they decide which location/time/date they are going to be in within a Specific                             Dimension). e.g. As the Ghosts are ‘invisible’ to Mike, they are in a layer/Sub-dimension             ‘outside’ of Mike’s ‘Visibility Spectrum’; when Neon becomes ‘invisible’ from Mike’s                     ‘Visibility Spectrum’, Neon falls into the Ghosts ‘Visibility Spectrum’ (the ‘layer’ where                the Ghosts are) even though Neon and the Ghosts are in separate Sub-Dimensions –            so now, Neon can ‘see’ the ‘Ghosts’ but cannot be seen by Mike. Crucially, Neon can

see both 'layers', so can see the Ghosts and Mike at the same time...similar to Alison.

Q2. What is Neon’s Character?

 3.     Magnetism – Neon uses high amounts of electricity/energy (from their world) in order              to keep them in a particular dimension/time/place; as every substance is made up of            tiny particles (i.e. electrons) that carry electric charges, Neon’s electricity reacts with              the surrounding electricity making Neon slightly magnetic i.e. if Neon                                              touches/makes a connection with an object or person, they can cause a magnetic                  pull which brings an object/person into the same place/time/sub-dimensional layer                that Neon is in.

e.g if Neon is in the Ghosts ‘Visibility Spectrum Layer’ and then Neon picks up an                              object/person from another Visibility Spectrum Layer’, that object/person would be                  brought into the Ghosts layer for as long as the connection lasts (via direct ‘touch’).                  However, there’s only enough power to bring in one object or one person (big or small)            in to the same ‘Visibility Layer’ at a time.

4.      Possessions – Neon collects objects, trinkets and keepsakes from their dimensional                travels, however they can only take 1 object per dimension, each object can be                          brought into any dimension by Neon and can be retrieved from and/or placed into                   any location Neon sees fit... similar to Mary Poppins’ Bag.

Q3. What drives Neon – why are they there?

Neon is forever a viewer/observer of whatever world they find themselves in and, try as they might, can never be fully accepted into the world to allow them to settle down; as they are not physically part of the world, they are not constrained by it, leading to different abilities which can help or hinder Neon’s travels.

However with these abilities comes the cost of detachment and drifting aimlessly through time and space... So Neon is always looking for the next place to call home before time catches up with them and they inevitably have to move on again.

IS NEON A GHOST TOO? OR NOT? PHYSICAL ENERGY?  AN ENTITY?
